Who:

The camp is open for epee fencers who are preparing to go to the 2006 Summer National Championships and for those preparing for the upcoming 2006-2007 Fencing Season.

SDL Competition is going to wrap up all camps. Schedule Saturday, June 24th at 9:00 am

Daily Program:

4:00 pm to 5:30 pm Footwork Drills; reinforcing good form, reaction time, power and speed. Individual instruction to strengthen fundamental technical skills

5:30 pm to 6:30 pm Conditioning, flexibility and strengthening activities

6:30 pm to 9:00 pm Competitive bouting to reinforce tactical skills. Daily sessions will include observation and analysis of fencer's performance

Coaching Staff:

Margaret De Long, license Athletic Trainer and Master in Education earned her Fencing Master certification from Chile. For many years, she has guided college and youth fencers of different levels in the three specialties to exceed in the sport. She was part of the Chilean National Team and participated in South American and Pan-American games. Click here for more information

Connor Power, 16 years of experience starting in Gulf Coast and continuing at University of Notre Dame.

Junior Olympics competition experience in sabre and multiple top 10 finishes in U-17 and U-20 foil. He trained with Michael Marx and Yves Auriol at University of Notre Dame. Connor was a member of NCAA men's foil team gold medalist '94 and bronze medalist '95.  Division-I national silver medalist men's foil team member. Gold medalist men's foil nationals, silver medalist men's foil national circuit, and epee team champion of Uruguay. Coached at Notre Dame 4 yrs; at Escrime du Lac in South Bend, IN 4 yrs; youth coach in Lagos, Nigeria 2 yrs; at Virginia Academy of Fencing in Washington, DC 10 months; and club owner/operator in Montevideo, Uruguay, 2 years. 

Miguel Angel Readi, Fencing  Moniteur certification from Chile. For many years, he guided youth, cadet, junior and adults  to exceed in the sport.  He was part of the Chilean National Team in Saber and participated internationally. Click her for more information

Registration Guidelines:

The fee for the Fencing Camp is $250 or $150 for fencers who already paid monthly tuition. If you planning to attend foil and epee, cost is $400 or $200 for fencers who already paid monthly tuition. Your application and $50 non-refundable deposit are due a week prior to camp. The balance may be paid the first day of the camp. Late registration will be accepted, along with $25 late fee, if space is available.
